NaNoWriMo

Well, I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo. I’m not actually working on a novel right now; I’m shooting for a collection of short stories. The setting I’m working with serves a collection much better than one cohesive plot; there are too many things going on, and not every character needs to be followed throughout the timeline. This format will allow me to develop the characters and build a picture of the city without requiring a commitment to a single, long plot.
Basically I’m using NaNoWriMo as motivation, but there’s no way I’ll win because I’m not writing a novel.
